Many citizens in Florida were shocked to hear of the divorce of high-profile celebrities Seal and Heidi Klum.

The couple claims they have grown apart but still carry respect and love for each other. They said the seven years of marriage were happy and loyal, and as they work through the divorce process, their primary concern is taking care of their young children, ages 7, 6, 5 and 2.

How the divorce will pan out financially has become a story of interest. Klum, a model, has made about $108 million since 2002 and is worth roughly $50 million, thanks to TV shows, endorsements, fashion lines and other sources. Although the musician Seal is worth roughly $10 million, he has not made as much as Klum, thanks to declining record sales over the past few years and albums not hitting it big with consumers.

Both Klum and Seal make substantial incomes, which makes many people believe they signed a prenuptial agreement before they got married. Currently, it is unknown if there is such an agreement.

According to TMZ, the couple blamed irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split, and Klum has been interviewing Los Angeles divorce lawyers. Regardless, she has stayed silent about the divorce.

However, the release date of Seal's new album, which came out two days after the divorce announcement, is making some critics question whether the whole thing is a publicity stunt. An editor for Billboard said that a celebrity's personal life can have a significant impact on his or her artistic career. He said that "booking an appearance for Seal becomes more interesting now because there's a celebrity divorce to discuss and not just a new Seal album."
