Celebrity divorces occur across the country, including Florida. Best known for his Oscar-nominated performance on Hustle & Flow, Terrence Howard is undergoing a long battle with his soon-to-be ex-wife. The problems occurred during their engagement in May 2009, yet did not stop their wedding six months later.
Terrence's divorce from his wife is turning into an embarrassing spectacle, with unexpected accusations arising constantly. Accusations between the two include extortion, threats of bodily harm, verbal abuse and physical abuse.
Court papers indicate the couple had a two-week honeymoon. A nasty fight ensued when Michelle Ghent Howard discovered a secret second cell phone on Jan. 27, 2010. She also claims her husband punched her face and neck. In his court declaration, the 42-year-old celebrity stated it was his wife who punched him and, throughout their marriage, yelled racial slurs at him.
The couple stayed together one more year, separated, reconciled and separated again. According to court documents, Terrance Howard allegedly Skypes, texts, calls and emails Michelle Ghent Howard throughout the day and night, threatening physical harm to her. Terrance Howard is responding to allegations that she harassed him and is threatening to ruin his career by releasing private conversations recorded with people he knew before he met her.
A judge granted her with a restraining order on Dec. 5 based on her claims that her husband broke her computer in half, repeatedly threatened her, stalked her via phone and Internet, and caused her physical injuries that required medical attention. Terrence Howard is fighting for a restraining order on his behalf based on harassment and threats of extortion.
